Norwich City had a massive overhaul of players in the summer transfer window in 2017.
The club let go of over 15 players and brought in ten senior players into the squad, as well as a number of youth signings.
Angus Gunn, Marco Stiepermann, Harrison Reed, Marley Watkins, Mario Vrancic, Marcel Franke, Tom Trybull, Grant Hanley, Christoph Zimmermann and James Husband were all added to the squad.
Norwich currently sit 13th in the Championship table, but have already had to face many of the top Championship outfits this season.
The Canaries have beaten the likes of Middlesbrough and Reading, as well as losing to Wolves and Derby.
It has been a mixed start, although Norwich did break a club-record for consecutive clean sheets. The club kept five clean sheets in-a-row in the Championship, with four having been the previous record.
We take a look at each summer signings and rate their addition to the squad so far…
Angus Gunn: 8
Gunn has kept seven clean sheets since joining on loan and put in a number of exceptional performances between the sticks.
Christoph Zimmermann: 8
Considering he signed on a free from the German fourth division and was expected to be a bench-warmer, Zimmermann has been superb.
The central defender has been top-class, for the most part. He still has areas to improve, but he is young and looks very promising.
Grant Hanley: 6
He hasn’t had much of a chance to impress thus far, but has looked solid when called upon.
Hard to judge until he gets a run of games, but looks like he could be a tidy signing.
James Husband: 4
Not impressed so far. He has lost his place at left-back to a midfielder and looked out of place on multiple occasions. Needs to improve.
Marco Stiepermann: 8
Signed as a midfielder/left-sided player, Stiepermann has slotted in at left-back and been superb.
The German has impressed and has easily been one of Norwich’s most consistent players since breaking into the side.
Harrison Reed: 6
His performances of late have left a lot to be desired, but he has had some excellent displays in a City shirt.
The midfielder on-loan from Southampton will struggle to make the starting line-up when Alex Tettey is fit, but is a useful option to have.
Tom Trybull: 9
Signed on a free transfer after a trial during the summer and started the season looking like Norwich’s 4/5th choice central midfielder.
Many would now argue he is one of the best players in the team. He has been exceptional in holding midfield, and could even be a contender for player of the season.
Marley Watkins: 4
Signed on a free from Barnsley with a good reputation in the Championship, but Watkins has failed to make an impact at Norwich.
He is yet to get off the mark in the league, with his only strike coming against Charlton in the cup.
Mario Vrancic: 5
Vrancic, signed for under £1m from Darmstadt, and after his pre-season performances fans were getting excited about his potential for the season.
He is yet to fulfill it, though. Vrancic is struggling to get into the starting line-up, with his only two goals coming in the cup against Brentford.
Marcel Franke: 3
Norwich’s second most expensive signing of the summer (behind Hanley) and can’t even get into the matchday squad.
Currently Norwich’s fifth choice centre back after some poor performances at the start of the season.
Franke is still young and could improve, but the early signs are not good.
