# Our man of the match: Derby (H)

Norwich City made it back-to-back defeats as they lost 2-1 to Derby County at Carrow Road on Saturday.

The Canaries also lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the League Cup on Tuesday night, which had ended a nine-game unbeaten streak.

Daniel Farke’s men still came into the clash with Derby unbeaten in eight Championship matches, with the visitors ending Norwich’s excellent run.

It was Norwich who should have taken the lead early in the first-half. Marco Stiepermann was sent clear on goal but his effort smashed against the crossbar and away.

Josh Murphy was then tackled by Derby goalkeeper Scott Carson just as he looked set to score, with Norwich feeling as though they should have been given a penalty – with no decision made by the referee.

Derby then took the lead in the last-minute of the first-half. David Nugent found space on the edge of the box before curling the ball past Angus Gunn.

Norwich defender Timm Klose scored his first goal of the season in the 71st minute as he powered home a back-post header to pull the club level.

However, Sam Winnall won the game for Derby when he pounced on a parry from Gunn in the 83rd minute to tap the ball into an empty net.

Picking a man of the match has been difficult, with Norwich producing a below-par performance.

Our Norwich man of the match against Derby is… Timm Klose!

The Swiss international scored his first of the season and had a solid display at the back.

There was little he could do about either of Derby’s goals, and he made a number of good challenges throughout the game.

It was an excellent header – towering above his marker – to draw City level and is enough to earn him our man of the match award.
