# Arsenal 2-1 Norwich: Four things we learned

Norwich City took Arsenal to extra-time on Tuesday night as they crashed out of the League Cup at The Emirates.

The Canaries led for the majority of the game, but a late equaliser followed by a winner in extra-time saw [Arsenal](https://readarsenal.com/) clinch progression into the last eight.

Josh Murphy opened the scoring for Norwich in the first-half. James Maddison slotted an excellent ball through before Murphy clipped it over the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

Angus Gunn was forced to make multiple excellent saves throughout the night, with one exceptional save from a Rob Holding header in the first-half.

Despite their stout defending at times, [Arsenal](https://readarsenal.com/) finally found their goal. Poor defending from a corner led to the home side converting as a near-post flick on was converted in the six-yard box.

The game then went into extra-time, with [Arsenal](https://readarsenal.com/) securing the win as Norwich were undone from another corner, this time a header from six-yards out.
