Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke has given the latest squad update of the club’s clash with Sunderland at Carrow Road on Sunday.
Farke had some very bad new for City fans, confirming that Alex Pritchard will be out until at least November.
The midfielder picked up an ankle injury against Cambridge in pre-season and will miss three months of Championship action because of it.
Speaking to Norwich’s website, Farke said this about Pritchard:
He needs an operation so we will have to do without him for at least 12 weeks. We hope he will be able to return in the middle of November, then will need time when he’s back in training.
Also injured in that clash, Timm Klose has returned to training. Farke confirms Klose is back on the grass but is yet to be back involved with the full squad.
With Timm Klose, it looks good. He’s back on the pitch and doing some stuff, although he’s not in the team training right now.
I hope he can return to that before the international break. It’s some good news but we have to wait a bit still.
Wes Hoolahan and Ivo Pinto missed chunks of pre-season and are still returning to full fitness.
Steven Naismith returns from his suspension, after missing the first two games of the season.
Nelson Oliveira is back in contention after being left out of Tuesday’s clash with Swindon.
Steven was very good in pre-season, so I was sad to do without him in the first games.
He’s in good condition and is a leader on the pitch. Nelson Oliveira is also available, depending on how the next few training sessions go.
