# Our man of the match: Brighton (H)

Norwich ruined Brighton’s big night as they beat the Seagulls 2-0 at Carrow Road on Friday night.

Brighton only need a point to secure the league but came away with nothing as Norwich beat them 2-0 in front of the Sky cameras.

On a bizarre night, the Canaries won 2-0 without registering an official shot on target in the game.

Both goals went down as David Stockdale own goals. The Brighton goalkeeper was desperately unlucky as two Alex Pritchard shots hit the woodwork and bounced back off the shot-stopper and dropped in.

Pritchard, who was being maligned by Brighton fans all night, was superb for Norwich and will count himself unlucky for not getting his name on the scoresheet, despite his two terrific strikes that led to the goals.

Jonny Howson saved Norwich towards the end when he cleared one off the line with his knee, but Brighton rarely threatened the goal.

Picking a man of the match for Norwich has been very easy, despite my inclination to make a David Stockdale joke.

Ryan Bennett and Graham Dorrans were both in contention, but it could not be anyone other than Alex Pritchard.

After his decision to join Norwich over Brighton last summer he was welcomed by boos every time he touched the ball from the away fans, with a number of chants directed at him throughout the game.

He certainly silenced them with two sweet strikes, which were unlucky to not go in on their own – leading to the two Norwich goals.

Pritchard was sharp on the ball, beat players with ease and worked his socks off to try to prove a point at Carrow Road.

The 23-year-old has been in sublime form this month, with this being his fifth man of the match award out of six matches for Norwich.
