# Our man of the match: Newcastle (H)

Norwich City extended their unbeaten run as they picked up a draw with Newcastle at Carrow Road last night.

The away side found themselves 1-0 up after just 23 seconds of play. Jack Colback found Ayoze Perez in the box and the Spaniard dispatched the ball into the back of the net with ease.

However, Norwich hit back and were ahead going into half-time. Firstly, Cameron Jerome won the ball back into the area before sliding the ball across to Jacob Murphy for a tap-in.

Then, Jerome was the beneficiary of a calamitous mistake from Toon goalkeeper Karl Darlow. The young shot-stopper went to clear the ball and completely missed his kick – giving Jerome the simplist of task to put Norwich 2-1 ahead.

Norwich desperately tried to defend their lead in the second half but were undone with little under ten minutes left to play. They failed to deal with a cross and Jamaal Lascelles scored at the back post.

Picking a man of the match for Norwich has been difficult. John Ruddy, Cameron Jerome and Jacob Murphy were all terrific.

However, yet again I have to go with Mitchell Dijks as my man of the match. This is his third in four games and it is truly deserved.

The Dutchman kept Matt Ritchie quiet all night and made some exceptional tackles over the 90 minutes – as well as some good crosses into the box when going forward.

What a signing he is turning out to be. And already looks to have secured our player of the month award for February, with just one match against Ipswich left to go.
