# Our man of the match: Nottingham Forest (H)

Norwich City convincingly swept Nottingham Forest aside as they thumped Gary Brazil’s side 5-1 at Carrow Road.

The Canaries are continuing to push for a spot in the play-offs and remain two points behind Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship table.

It was a contest of who could score the best goal for Norwich as Jonny Howson, Wes Hoolahan, Josh Murphy and Alex Pritchard all scored excellent goals.

Howson opened the scoring with a stunning volley from 25-yards before Murphy slotted home from a tight angle just moments later.

Hoolahan then lobbed the ‘keeper from 30-yards a matter of seconds after Murphy’s goal.

Alex Pritchard then added two to the contest in the second half. Pritchard slotted the ball home nicely in the area before curling the ball into the corner from 20-yards to seal off the scoring.

Ross McCormack did pull a goal back for Forest on his debut at 4-0 but it proved little consolation for a Forest side who saw their goalkeeper go off injured and their captain sent off.

Picking a man of the match has been incredibly difficult today with so many good performers but I have to pick one.

Wes Hoolahan, Nelson Oliveira, Timm Klose, Josh Murphy and Jonny Howson were all up there.

However, I have to go for Alex Pritchard as my man of the match. The midfielder was simply sensational – for the second game running.

Two assists against Wigan on Tuesday and two goals today for the former Tottenham man.

He was unable to get himself an assist but played his goal in most of the goals and was unlucky not to set up a goal or two.

Pritchard is really starting to show why he was worth £7m to the club in the summer.
