# Our player of the month: September

Norwich enjoyed a fantastic September as they progressed to the last 16 of the EFL Cup and fired themselves up to 2nd in the Championship.

The Canaries played six times during September – five in the Championship and one in the EFL Cup – and won five matches.

Late heartbreak at Newcastle was the only blackspot in a fine month for Alex Neil’s side. Norwich beat Wigan, Cardiff, Nottingham Forest, Everton and Wolves during the month.

As you may know, we hand out our player of the month award each month. The award is handed to the player with the most man of the match awards during the month.

In September, Michael McGovern, Ryan Bennett, Jonny Howson and Cameron Jerome picked up one award each. However, Timm Klose won the most – claiming two awards during the month.

Klose was man of the match against Cardiff and, most recently, Wolves for Norwich.

The big Swiss defender was a colossal at the back during the month in the Championship for Norwich. The only league clash he missed was the 4-3 loss to Newcastle…

How did Norwich manage to keep hold of the man mountain? Who knows…
