Cole: Maddison can be as good as he wants to be
Coventry midfielder Joe Cole has claimed that James Maddison can be as good as he wants to be and has loads of potential, reports The Pinkun.
Maddison signed for Norwich City on deadline day at the end of the winter window for an undisclosed fee from Coventry and was loaned back until the end of the season.
Th 19-year-old made sure that he could stay at Coventry for the rest of the season to help them gain promotion. Coventry are aiming to move up to the Championship and Maddison is a key player for their side.
The attacking midfielder scored in Coventry’s 6-0 win at the weekend and was very influential in the result. Maddison is very highly rated and is thought to be one of the top prospects outside of the Premier League.
Speaking about his teammate, Cole said this:
He can be as good as he wants to be.
He’s obviously excelled at the start of his career and got his move to Norwich. He’s a Coventry lad, he is a supporter of the team, and he wants to leave the club with us getting promoted. He can do anything he wants – the sky’s the limit.
To be 19 again, to have it all in front of you, is a great thing. He’s going to have such a good time.
Some Norwich fans are already claiming that he could be the heir to Wes Hoolahan’s role in the team. He should come into Alex Neil’s plans from the start of next season so he will be able to showcase his talent for the club later this year.
