Did Ozil call Norwich’s defence sh*t?
Much has been made of Norwich’s defence so far this season. They have the second worst defensive record in the Premier Leauge this season, conceding 48 goals. This is one less than Sunderland, who have let in 49.
There have been plenty of analytics who have had their way and elegantly explained why they think the Norwich defence has been so dysfunctional. However, Arsenal midfielder, and the league’s leading playmaker, Mesut Ozil has put it into his own words.
Following Norwich’s 1-1 draw at home to the Gunners, Mesut Ozil has been filmed seemingly calling Norwich’s defence ‘f**king sh*t’. I have to say, it is pretty hard to disagree, Sebastien Bassong and Russell Martin have hardly been the best central defenders in the league this season.
The video was shared around countless times on social media.

Despite Norwich’s defence being ‘sh*t’ in Ozil’s opinion (and a lot of others), Norwich still managed to draw with the Gunners. Lewis Grabban cancelled our Ozil’s opener in the game.
However, Norwich do currently find themselves in the relegation zone due to their defensive woes and need to improve drastically if they are to have a chance of staying up.
