Norwich City announced the signing of Patrick Bamford yesterday from Chelsea on loan for the rest of the season.
The Canaries have become the fifth team to sign Bamford on loan since he signed for Chelsea from Nottingham Forest.
Bamford has proven he can score goals in League One and the Championship and will be hoping he can prove himself in the Premier League with Norwich.

31 January 2012 | Bamford signs for Chelsea
Bamford had risen through the ranks at Nottingham Forest and impressed Chelsea. He signed a five-year contract with the Blues for a fee in the region of £1.5m.
22 November 2012 | First loan move
Bamford signed on loan for MK Dons from Chelsea in 2012. He went on to play 37 times for the League One outfit and scored 18 goals. This was his breakthrough season as a professional footballer.
3 January 2013 | Bamford joins Derby on loan
Bamford’s second loan move was to Derby in the Championship. He played 21 times before the end of the season and scored eight times in the Championship.
29 August 2014 | Loaned to Middlesbrough
His move to Middlesbrough has perhaps been the most influential move of his career to date. He spent the whole of last season on loan to Boro and was able to get some considerable game time.
April 2015 | Bamford wins Championship player of the year
Bamford was announced as the Championship’s player of the year for the 2014/15 season. He finished the campaign with 17 Championship goals for Middlesbrough and impressed throughout the season.
25 May 2015 | Bamford loses in play-off final
Bamford’s goals had shot Middlesbrough to the play-off final to try to get to the Premier League, however, they were beaten by Norwich City 2-0.
21 July 2015 | Bamford joins Crystal Palace
Last summer Bamford was given his first chance to impress in the Premier League as he joined Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace on loan from Chelsea.
28 December | Ends Crystal Palace spell
Bamford cut his own loan short at Palace just before the start of the January window. Bamford made just eight appearances for Palace, mainly off the bench, and felt like he needed to move elsewhere for football.
January 30 | Bamford joins the Canaries
This brings us back to yesterday. Bamford signed for Norwich City on loan until the end of the season. He will be hoping that he can impress enough to play regular Premier League football. This is likley to be Bamford’s last chance to impress before Chelsea let him leave.
