According to The Daily Mail, Norwich City have agreed on an £8.5m fee for Wolfsburg defender Timm Klose.
This would make him Norwich’s joint-record transfer, with the fee drawing level with that paid for Dutch striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel.
Van Wolfswinkel scored just one Premier League goal when he joined over two years ago and is still at the club, albeit being out on loan to Real Betis. Norwich fans will be hoping that Klose will have more of an impact than the Dutchman had.
The 27-year-old is a Swiss international and is hoping that a move to the Canaries can boost his chances of getting a place in his Countries squad for the European Championships this summer.
With the fee being agreed it is thought that Klose is set to undergo a medical at the start of the week (Monday). Klose is also thought to be keen on the move and ready to come into the squad against Liverpool next week.
Norwich’s interest in the defender has also been confirmed by Wolfsburg’s director of football, Klaus Allofs.
There is definite interest from Norwich. An agreement is expected, and we are well prepared to cover in the event that it happens.
