# No settled style for Norwich says Canaries boss

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has [said](https://www.clubcall.com/norwich-city/neil-wants-flexible-canaries-1790238.html?) that he is surprised by the way some teams play at Carrow Road and that Norwich are going to have to change their style of play each week in order to strike a balance and get results.

It has been a bumpy start to Premier League life for the Scotsman. 16th in the league after 13 games and firmly in the relegation dogfight. Norwich have won just three games in the Premier League this season; Sunderland, Bournemouth and Swansea were the three victims.

However, the Canaries have had to adapt their style of play each week due to the different tests that the English top-flight throws at you. You can go all out attack against Sunderland and win 3-1, but then you can do the same against Southampton and lose 3-0.

Neil has already shown his ability to change his tactics, as he did against Swansea when Norwich sat back, at home, and soaked up pressure before nicking a goal and holding onto it, winning 1-0.

Speaking about Norwich’s change of tactics ahead of the game against Arsenal, Neil said this:

> Over recent weeks, we have found a decent balance, but we can still improve.

> We are going to have to be a team that changes our style from week to week to get results.

> We will be regarded as one of the smaller teams in the league, but even when so-called bigger teams come to our place, they have been happy to sit behind the ball, soak up pressure and hit you on the counter attack and that sort of surprised me.

> You would have thought that some of them would have come here and tried to impose themselves, go toe-to-toe but that has not been the case and has been quite surprising.
