# Wednesday boss hints at permanent move for Hooper

Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has [hinted](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/11/12/carlos-carvalhal-hints-that-gary-hoopers-sheffield-wednesday-swi/) that on-loan Norwich striker Gary Hooper is a player that he would like to sign permanently as the front-man has impressed so far for the Championship club.

Hooper, 27, has made 64 appearances for The Canaries since joining in 2013 from Scottish champions Celtic, but has scored 18 goals in mainly cameo appearances for the club.

The Englishman made just his first start for Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend against Charlton Athletic since joining, and although he failed to make a real impact on the game, Wednesday boss Carvalhal seemed to take a liking to Hooper and how he played, giving the striker encouraging signs over a future at Hillsborough.

> When we bring a player on a loan, it is because we like him.

As Hooper prepares to try and help a very solid Sheffield Wednesday side to the Championship playoffs and beyond this season, Norwich finds themselves in 15th place after a fairly comfortable start to life back in the Premier League.
