# New contracts for Canaries duo

Twins Josh and Jacob Murphy have today been handed new two year contracts, meaning they will stay with the club until at least 2017.

The duo both signed development contracts with Norwich in 2013, before helping Neil Adam’s Norwich u18’s side to the FA Youth Cup.

Josh made fifteen first team appearances for Norwich last season, scoring three goals in the process before a short loan spell with Wigan Athletic, helpless as the side were relegated to League One. Jacob on the other hand spent the majority of last season on loan, with spells at Blackpool, Scunthorpe and Colchester. He impressed during his short stint with the U’s, managing to score 4 goals in 11 appearances.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Jacob said “I’m delighted to get the deal signed. They like to look after the young players here so I’m happy it’s been done so quickly. I’ve had a good pre-season and to have that recognised with a new deal is nice.

Josh added that “I’m delighted and I’m just glad it’s all sorted now. The club has got a big place in my heart and I’m happy to sign, and now the real work begins.”

It is yet to be seen if Josh and Jacob will make an impact in the first team this season, however, when the first team squad numbers were released at the start of this season neither of the twins featured. With both their squad numbers last season, numbers 21 and 25 being left open.
