# Dynamo Kyiv striker closing in on Norwich City switch

This morning, a rumour that had gone quiet in the form of Dieumerci Mbokani, has reemerged. The Congolese international was linked with Norwich earlier in the summer, however **[it is now being reported](https://m.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20150802_01801817)** that Mbokani is heading for Norwich.

Earlier on in this transfer window, Norwich had a bid of €6 million rejected, but it seems that their interest has not waned. Further rumours suggest that Dynamo Kyiv wanted at least €12 million for the striker when negotiations began, but it would appear David McNally has wrestled the price down.

Mbokani, who has been recorded saying “I really want to play in the Premier League”, was photographed in Kyiv airport which further supports the idea that he’s leaving the club – but is Norwich the destination?

With international teammate Youssouf Mulumbu already with Norwich, it may have been that his voice was instrumental to convincing Mbokani to make the journey to East Anglia. Should this deal go through, it could spell the end for one of Norwich’s strikers, with Kyle Lafferty appearing as the obvious choice. He spent the end of last season on loan, and rumours have since linked him with moves to the Championship.
