# Norwich City keen on free agent goalkeeper

After the termination of his contract with Blackburn today, Norwich are **[reportedly interested](https://www.itv.com/news/anglia/update/2015-07-31/norwich-city-manager-neil-admits-interest-in-former-blackburn-goalkeeper-kean/?)**in bringing in ‘keeper Jake Kean.

The 24-year-old made over 37 appearances for Rovers after joining the side in 2009 from Derby County. Throughout his career in Lancashire, he had several loan spells with Hartlepool, Rochdale, Yeovil and Oldham.

However, after starting strongly in the 2013/14 campaign, Kean slipped down the pecking order at Rovers, and failed to make a single appearance for the side last term. After two loan spells last season, both club and player have decided to move on.

With Mark Bunn and Remi Matthews having left as a free agent and loanee respectively, Norwich are certainly in need of a third goalkeeper. Kean would likely be brought in to provide competition for both John Ruddy and Declan Rudd.

Alex Neil made it clear that, along with a striker, another goalkeeper is a priority on his shopping list for this transfer window. He reiterated this issue in his pre-Brentford press conference today.
