# Liverpool defender set for season-long loan at Norwich

**[According to the *Guardian*](https://twitter.com/AHunterGuardian/status/626014243175985152)**, Norwich are on the verge of completing the season-long loan signing of Liverpool youngster Andre Wisdom for a reported £1.25m loan fee. This would be the 22 year old’s third loan spell in three years, after successful loans at Derby and West Bromwich Albion. Wisdom made 24 appearances for the Baggies last season, starting well under Alan Irvine but losing his first team place after the appointment of Tony Pulis.

This deal has come out of nowhere, with Wisdom only linked with a return to Pride Park and Derby County. However Alex Neil has seemingly now got his man, with Wisdom fitting into a relatively weak Norwich defence.  The former England under-21 international is a versatile defender, being able to play in his natural position of centre back, but also capable of playing as a full-back. Full-back is where he spent most of his time playing at West Bromwich Albion, with Alan Irvine favouring Wisdom on the right instead of the centre of defence.
