# Twitter reaction to signing Youssouf Mulumbu

After weeks of speculation, the world and his wife already new that Youssouf Mulumbu was signing for City before the African midfield powerhouse was officially announced. But despite the announcement feeling like a bit of an anti-climax, it still provided the opportunity for the people of Twitter to express their opinion on the first proper signing of the season.

The general consensus from Norwich fans was overwhelmingly positive. After seeing the City midfield struggle in the latter parts of last season when Tettey was absent, it was clear that this was a good bit of business.

> [@TheCarrowCrowd](https://twitter.com/TheCarrowCrowd) yeah good signing, solid player with loads of prem experience

Norfolk folk are famous for their love of a good bargain, so it was no surprise that picking up the DR Congo international on a free went down well.

> Mulumbu a brilliant signing, will provide competition and cover for Tettey. Even better that we managed to get him for free! [#ncfc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/ncfc?src=hash) — Ewan Wilson (@ewanwilson99) [June 22, 2015](https://twitter.com/ewanwilson99/status/613021482877366273)

And for every delighted canary, there was a heartbroken baggie. It seems the majority at the Hawthorns wanted him to stay at the Midlands club.

> [@WBAFCofficial](https://twitter.com/WBAFCofficial) [@mulumbuofficial](https://twitter.com/mulumbuofficial) [@NorwichCityFC](https://twitter.com/NorwichCityFC) Norwich have one of the best free transfers going look forward to your return next season

But despite a hugely successful 6 year stint at the club, not all were so upset to see the back of him.

> [@QPRFORLIFE](https://twitter.com/QPRFORLIFE) If you saw him play last season you’d know it was the right decision. Great servant but too much of a liability. — Lizzie Hayward (@ehayward93) [June 18, 2015](https://twitter.com/ehayward93/status/611466897406709760)

> [@WBAFCofficial](https://twitter.com/WBAFCofficial) [@mulumbuofficial](https://twitter.com/mulumbuofficial) [@NorwichCityFC](https://twitter.com/NorwichCityFC) good servent to the club but not been gd enough for a while. Time to go forward an improve — Adam (@broadyadam) [June 22, 2015](https://twitter.com/broadyadam/status/613036150316494848)

And it seems even the neutral fan could see Alex Neil has made a good addition to his already strong squad.

> Not going to lie, rather jealous of [#ncfc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/ncfc?src=hash) getting Mulumbu! Fantastic defensive midfielder. Would have loved him at [#afcb](https://twitter.com/hashtag/afcb?src=hash)  — Haydn Garwood (@BU3HY) [June 24, 2015](https://twitter.com/BU3HY/status/613750250138914816)

But when you’ve just seen your club spend £8 million on Tyrone Mings, pretty much anything must look like a good deal compared to that…
