# Norwich linked with Tottenham and USA right-back

The Telegraph are reporting that Norwich are on the verge of signing American right back DeAndre Yedlin on a loan deal from Spurs. The 21 year old signed for Spurs in January from MLS side Seattle Sounders, having featured at the 2014 World Cup with the USA.

This happens as Kieran Trippier is on the verge of signing for Spurs for a £3.5 million fee from Burnley, pushing Yedlin down the ranks of Spurs right backs. Having only made 1 appearance in his short time at White Hart Lane, Trippier signing would almost end his chances of first team football.

Depth in the position is completely the opposite at Norwich, with Steven Whittaker and Russell Martin the only available players, and with Martin playing mainly as a centre back during the 2014/15 campaign there was only Whittaker available, with Elliott Bennett available at a push. Yedlin would certainly add depth and also quality. I personally can remember him being one of the shining lights of the American World Cup side, his pace is phenomenal and he looked quite solid. I would think he would be quite a good addition to the side, especially on loan.

**Would you be happy with this signing? Could it serve the same purpose as Kyle Naughton from Spurs under Lambert?**
