# “The last four games are not going to be easy, but we can do it”

Saturday’s game was the best Norwich game I have ever been to. Yes there’s been moments such as Jackson’s winner against Derby and Pilkington’s goal that sunk United, but the madness that unfolded after Hooper’s winner was something I’ll never forget.

I swear I must have a nack for late goals; I was at Derby earlier in the season when Steven Whittaker got his late equaliser in what would be one of Neil Adams’ final matches in charge. But Bolton topped that game completely.

It wasn’t the perfect game however. For much of the second half the game looked to be going to finish 1-1 with Bolton trying to grind out a point. Norwich were having most of the possession and the majority of the chances but it didn’t seem to want to go in. Right up until the 93rd minute, when a Bassong long ball fell to Hooper in the box who cheekily chipped over Bogdan, giving the Canaries a vital 3 points in the promotion race. The away end exploded and the atmosphere changed in an instant. Gone was the nervousness of what was to come after the game and in its place the genuine belief that we were actually going to do it. At the final whistle you could see the genuine passion in the players, especially Russell Martin and John Ruddy, two veterans of the past campaign for promotion. On leaving the Macron Stadium, chants of “EIEIEIO, up the Football League we go” rang around the concourse; who would’ve thought in January that this would be the position we would be in with four games to go.

But now we have to look ahead, 4 massive games.

The ball is firmly in our court. This isn’t a case of relying on others to do us a favour but instead the brief is simple. If we can win our last 4 games then we are in a great position for promotion. As long as we can make sure our goal difference is above Watford for the rest of the season then I believe we may just do it.

However the last 4 games aren’t going to be easy. Leeds – they may be in turmoil with ownership at the moment, but you can never discount them. Neil Redfearn has really turned them round since his re-appointment at Elland Road and they are a force to be reckoned with. Even though their season may be over, not being able to get promoted or relegated, they will want to start some momentum to carry them into next season.

Then we have arguably the biggest game with the visit of Middlesborough on Friday night. At the time of writing Boro are 4th in the table, only a point behind the top 3. However, something that we can hopefully take advantage of is Boro’s poor away form. This was especially shown in the game against Watford – a defeat that really dented their promotion hopes. A victory would do wonders for our promotion push, and more than likely put another challenger out of the race for the Championship and the automatics.

We then face two tricky challenges in Rotherham and Fulham, both looking to preserve their Championship status. As of writing Rotherham have been charged with fielding an ineligible player, which is looking very likely to mean they will have points deducted. This will make the stakes that little bit higher and mean that the relegation fight may not be over.

But obviously, I believe we can do it, as should everyone. The lads will need all our support for the run in. They’ll show how much they care for the club and put us back in our rightful place. Hopefully on the 2nd May we can all be chanting “We are Premier League!”
