# A Weekend To Forget – Boo Boys And Fickle Fans

First things first, I’m not a season ticket holder, I don’t regularly attend home games so take that however you like.

I was very annoyed at the weekend by our fans at the game. It seemed to be that they were almost on the teams back from the first minute, especially Steven Whittaker. I have to admit, the performance wasn’t great but it didn’t warrant booing. Booing is a thing done to show you’ve had enough and want something to change. Not something done 3 games into the manager’s reign.

It’s almost as if people expect us to win every game in the league. Brentford was an important game, vital towards our promotion hopes, but it was not an easy game and not a certain win either. Some people seem to think that the new boss means that victory is certain every game, and that is simply not true.

Another issue was the booing of players, this is not needed. A player will not feel inspired to play better by the “fans” booing, all it will do is drive them closer to the exit door. Booing the manager’s decisions won’t help either. This was very common under Hughton and has for some reason resurfaced at the weekend. What is so bad with replacing Gary Hooper with Wes? Just because you want Whittaker off doesn’t mean you have to boo. Let’s not kid ourselves, Whittaker isn’t good enough for our team. But he was only playing there due to injuries to other midfielders.

This brings me on to something that is increasingly common around our club. Fickle fans. Some seemingly change opinions overnight. I have no time for people calling for the manager’s head after one loss. These people seemed to be incredibly supportive of Alex Neil when he got the job and they now, because he is able to lose a football match (shock!) are on his back, blaming the appointment of Adams in the summer for our current position. I don’t understand how you can go from one extreme to another after 3 games. But luckily this an acute minority of fans, so we can’t have a worse fan base than Arsenal.

But hopefully this changes, my message to you Carrow Road is to stop with this meaningless booing and get behind the team. If we are going to go up, we’re not going up by booing the lads.
