Norwich have bid rejected for League 2 starlet
Norwich have seen a bid rejected for Luton defender Akin Famewo, according to the Daily Mail.
The Canaries put in a £300,00 bid for the talented young defender, consisting of £250,000 up front and further add-ons. The League 2 leaders, however, have rejected the East Anglian side’s approach.
Famewo is 19, and primarily a centre-back but is able to play on the left side of defence. The Englishman could provide competition and cover for Jamal Lewis, but would also be another homegrown player in Norwich’s foreign-dominated squad. He has made 13 appearances for Luton over his career but is yet to score his first goal, however, he has a one assist to his name.
He would become City’s sixth signing of the window, following Marcus Edwards, Kenny McLean, Onel Hernandez, Denis Srbeny and Moritz Leitner to Carrow Road.
Norwich are currently 12th in the Championship and will face Middlesbrough at home on Saturday.
