Norwich City’s current season is all but over. The club look set for a mid table finish, nothing more and nothing less.
It has been a season of transition after a major summer overhaul last year, with the upcoming summer looking set to be equally busy.
It is not a secret that Norwich are struggling for funds, but a number of players look set for exits, which could give Daniel Farke money to spend in the window.
James Maddison is being heavily touted with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham said to be keen.
Norwich are thought to want £30m for the England under-21 international, which would allow the club to invest more money into the squad.
Here are some players Norwich could target in the summer if Maddison is sold…
Bradley Dack: Buy
Before anything else, Norwich would need to replace James Maddison.
Bradley Dack could be that man. He has been in terrific form for Blackburn and is known for his goalscoring from midfield.
Britt Assombalonga: Loan
With Assombalonga out of favour under Tony Pulis at Middlesbrough, Norwich could make a loan swoop for the striker.
If Middlesbrough are promoted, and they add further to their squad, the chances of this would vastly increase.
Norwich have held an interest in Assombalonga in the past.
Assombalonga would command high wages, which selling Maddison would allow them to match.
Jarrod Bowen: Buy
This one is dependent on Hull going down, but could be doable.
If Hull were to get relegated Norwich could swoop for Bowen and look to get him on a cut-price deal.
The talented youngster can play up front or out wide and is a genuine goal threat.
Toni Leistner: Buy
Norwich are known to have a strong interest in Leitner and it has been confirmed that he will not sign a new contract with Union Berlin.
This means that he will be a free agent in the summer, and a shrewd purchase.
Conor Randall: Buy
Norwich need more depth at right-back and Randall could provide that.
He has had experience in Liverpool’s first-team and is currently on loan at Hearts.
However, he is not expected to have a future at Anfield, so Norwich could give him a platform to shine in the Championship.
Harrison Reed: Buy
Whilst Angus Gunn and Moritz Leitner appear out of Norwich’s price range going into the summer, Reed may be a more affordable option out of the current loan players.
He has proven his consistency and versatility in the side and has improved throughout the season.
Reed can slot in at right-back or holding midfield and would be a good player to develop for the future.
