Norwich returned to winning ways over the weekend as they battled to a victory against Brentford on Saturday.

The Canaries won their seventh away match of the season in the Championship as they beat Brentford 1-0.

Angus Gunn’s 11th league shutout of the season and James Maddison’s ninth strike secured all three points for Daniel Farke’s side.

Maddison handed the Norwich the lead when he picked up the ball from Christoph Zimmermann’s tackle before slipping the ball between Ryan Woods’ legs and firing a shot into the top corner from 25-yards.

Nelson Oliveira came close to doubling Norwich’s lead, hitting the post with a left-footed effort from distance.

Norwich then dug in and produced an excellent defensive performance, with Grant Hanley, Timm Klose and Zimmermann dominating at the back.

Picking a man of the match has been easy, with one man standing out ahead of the rest.

James Maddison could have won it for his goal alone, but our Norwich man of the match against Brentford is… Christoph Zimmermann!

The towering German defender was exceptional at the back and pivotal to Norwich claiming the three points and a clean sheet.

He made a number of excellent challenges to cut out Brentford attacks, with dominant in the air, and he also claimed the assist for the goal with a vital interception!
