Union Berlin weigh up Franke move
German outfit Union Berlin are weighing up a move for Norwich City defender Marcel Franke.
According to Burliner Kurier, via the Pink’Un, Berlin are considering making an offer for Franke when the January transfer window opens.
Franke has been left out of the matchday squad for Norwich’s last two games, potentially opening up the door for him to leave the club.
The central defender only joined the club in the summer, but has started seven matches for the club since his switch from Germany.
He joined from 2. Bundesliga side Greuter Furth on a three-year deal for a fee in the region of £2.5m.
Timm Klose and Grant Hanley are currently Daniel Farke’s preferred centre-back partnership, with Christoph Zimmermann currently occupying the third centre-back spot on the bench.
There is no mention as to whether Berlin are looking at a loan move or something more permanent at this time.
