Our man of the match: Preston (H)
Norwich City extended their run of games without a win to seven games on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Preston at Carrow Road.
The Canaries looked bereft of ideas going forward at times and struggled to force the Preston goalkeeper into action besides the goal.
Josh Murphy, however, missed a glorious chance to open the scoring. He rounded the goalkeeper before hesitating and seeing his shot blocked by a defender.
The home side did then take the lead through an exquisite free-kick from James Maddison. The midfielder whipped the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box at an angle to give City the lead.
Preston found their equaliser in the second-half when Norwich’s zonal marking was left exposed from a corner and the free man in the box tapped home from close range.
Picking a man of the match has been easy, with one player standing out above the rest.
Our Norwich man of the match against Preston is… James Maddison!
The midfielder scored a superb goal and was one of the few players who looked good whenever he picked up the ball.
He was constantly looking to drive forward and create on the ball, as he continues to grow a reputation as one of the most talented players in the division.
