Norwich boss weighs up crazy re-call decision
Norwich City’s injury problems are reaching crisis point and it look likes that means that Alex Pritchard will earn a recall after coming back from injury for the clubs reserve side during the week.
Ahead of the match against Preston North End this weekend the Norwich boss, Daniel Farke, looks very short in the midfield area which could result in him throwing the former Spurs man in at the deep end.
Having previously hoped to give Pritchard some more time in the reserves the boss may have to make a crazy selection this weekend with midfielders Tom Trybull, Alex Tettey, Louis Thompson and Matt Jarvis all out.
Speaking about the situation the boss said;
I really think about crazy decisions. Potentially he could be involved.
We thought about giving him a bit longer for the under-23s this weekend.
He went on to add;
There were some thoughts about taking him in the first-team squad to give him some extra motivation to help with his recovery, but you could think about crazy decisions because we have so many problems to perhaps take him with us (for Preston). We are really thinking about this thing.
The plan was for Pritchard to travel with the squad, something which the boss echoed in order to give the player some much needed confidence.
It might give him some extra motivation as well to let him know he is pretty close, because he is. The main thing is to give him more minutes at the under-23s and have him back for Cardiff.
It is really good news. Alex Pritchard has been training for nine days now and he looks sharp and looks good during training.
