Norwich City broke a club record on Tuesday night as they beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at The Riverside.
The Canaries kept their fifth clean sheet in succession in the Championship, a feat that has never been managed before in the history of the club – in any division.
Daniel Farke also becomes the first away boss to win at Middlesbrough in the Championship since January 2016.
James Maddison’s wonderful goal in the 13th minute was enough to secure all three points for Norwich.
Marley Watkins did brilliantly on the left before finding Maddison in space on the edge of the box – who then curled the ball into the top corner from 22-yards.
Picking a man of the match has been hard, with so many players that could have won it.
James Maddison, Timm Klose, Christoph Zimmermann and James Husband were all contenders.
But, our Norwich man of the match against Middlesbrough is… Angus Gunn!
The City keeper preserved Norwich’s win late on as he made a terrific save. Lewis Baker’s free-kick for Middlesbrough took a massive deflection but Gunn reacted superbly to tip the ball over his bar.
He was exceptional in commanding his penalty area and relieved pressure on his defence multiple times by rushing out and claiming balls into the box.
Gunn has also become the first City keeper to keep five clean sheets in-a-row – in history.
