Norwich see €4.5m Leistner offer turned down
Norwich City have had a €4.5m offer for Union Berlin defender Toni Leistner turned down.
According to Berlin Sport, Berlin have rejected Norwich’s second offer for Leistner and plan on keeping him for the coming season.
It was reported earlier this summer that Norwich had a €3.5m bid turned down by the German club.
Norwich want to bring in another defender to strengthen their side ahead of a promotion push this season, with Leistner having been heavily linked to Norwich over the course of the window.
Stuart Webber was pictured with Leistner’s agent at Berlin’s game over the weekend, but it seems as though he was unable to push through a deal.
Leistner has one year left on his current deal with Berlin, which appears to had no impact in the club’s decision to reject Norwich’s offer.
The report claims that Berlin are willing to risk losing him on a free next summer in an attempt to win promotion and convince him to stay during the season.
He is 26-years-old and has been with Berlin since 2014, racking up 74 league appearances in that time.
