Norwich team news: Fulham (A)
The Daniel Farke era will begin on Saturday at Craven Cottage, and the new boss has revealed in his first press conference he is set to have Wes Hoolahan make a timely return to the Norwich squad.
The veteran Canary has missed a large proportion of pre-season, but Farke told the Norwich City website he’s ready to be involved in the match day squad.
Wes can’t play 90 minutes but will be in the squad. He can be an option for us from the bench. Ivo Pinto has trained this week after missing all of pre-season and we will make a decision on whether we take him to Fulham.
Josh Murphy and Russell Martin are also in a battle to win a fitness race against calf and leg injuries respectively, with Farke having to make a late call on both.
The German has struggled all pre-season with a lack of depth in his squad, with some players likely having to step up earlier than desired.
If Josh is able to train tomorrow he could be an option from the bench. There will be one last tast for Russell tomorrow too. He took a hit to his leg so didn’t train today.
Long term absentees Timm Klose, Alex Pritchard and Louis Thompson are all still a significant way off being available for first team selection.
