Norwich City continued their unbeaten start to pre-season with a win over Cambridge on Saturday.

It was the club’s fourth friendly of the summer and their third win, adding to victories against Cobh Ramblers and Lowestoft.

The Canaries were also held to a 2-2 draw by Stevenage last Tuesday, despite going 2-0 up early.

The main talking points will be about injuries for Norwich; both Timm Klose and Alex Pritchard picked up nasty knocks after poor challenges from Cambridge players.

Klose hobbled off after being two footed in the knee and Pritchard was stretchered off after his ankle was tripped in the box.

Josh Murphy and Ben Godfrey scored the goals in the 16th and 18th minute, meaning Norwich then went 102 minutes without scoring – due to the friendly lasting 120 minutes.

Our man of the match for Norwich was… Ben Godfrey.

The young defender was distraught after he was to blame for Stevenage’s two goals on Tuesday but made up for that with a superb display on Saturday.

Godfrey scored a header from Mario Vrancic’s corner and was dominant in midfield and defence throughout the game.

The youngster certainly looks like he could be working his way into Daniel Farke’s plans for next season.
