Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy has reportedly informed his agent of his desire to move to Newcastle this summer.

Lee Ryder of the Chronicle reports that more talks between the player and both clubs are due to take place in an attempt to resolve the player’s future.

Murphy impressed for the England U21s side over the summer, increasing interest in the wide man.

The Norwich winger has already turned down a move to Crystal Palace this summer in the hope of holding out for a move to St James’ Park.

Newcastle have already failed with an initial bid for the player and are expected to return with a second an improved bid.

The Magpies have set out to add Premier League quality to their squad this summer as they prepare for their first season back in England’s top flight.

Strength in wide areas is an area that Rafa Benitez has been keen to add to.
