Newcastle looking to seal £8m Murphy deal
Premier League side Newcastle are looking to sign Norwich winger Jacob Murphy for £8m.
According to the Chronicle, Newcastle want to seal a £8m move for Murphy but the Championship club want a fee closer to £12m.
Murphy was Norwich’s top scoring midfielder last season – with ten goals – in his first season of Championship football.
He was an unexpected breakthrough star at the start of the season, with many thinking that his twin brother – Josh – was going to break into the team ahead of him.
Instead, Jacob scored on the opening day of the season with a cracking long-range strike against Blackburn and never looked back.
The report claims that the club are looking for £12m for Murphy, who only recently signed a new long-term contract this season.
Murphy still has four years to go on his deal and is only 22-years-old. Norwich hold all the cards at this time.
