Farke excited to join Norwich
Norwich’s new head coach Daniel Farke has spoken of his excitement upon arrival at the club.
The club have today confirmed the appointment of Farke as head coach, becoming the first ever foreign manager to arrive at Carrow Road. Therefore, the first German Norwich have had in charge.
He was heavily linked with the role over the last few days, with the official confirmation coming on Thursday morning.
Speaking to Norwich’s website, Farke said this:
I’m very excited to be here, it’s a great adventure for me.
I was really looking forward to coming here and seeing all of the people and learning even more about the Club.
I had a really good time with Borussia Dortmund, but Stuart Webber has told me all about Norwich City, its traditions and history, and I know what a great Club it is.
The more I know about Norwich City, the more excited I get. I’m very glad to be here and can’t wait to get started.
Farke joins Norwich from Borussia Dortmund II, where his contract was set to expire at the end of next month.
The 40-year-old replaces Alan Irvine, who was in interim charge following the sacking of Alex Neil in March earlier this year.
Farke will now be tasked with the job of securing promotion to the Premier League with Norwich next season.
Edmund Riemer will be joining him as his assistant, with the duo both signing two-year deals with the club.
