Norwich target requests to leave Huddersfield
Huddersfield head of football Stuart Webber has requested to leave the Yorkshire side and has been placed on garden leave effective immediately.
As reported by ITV, Huddersfield have released a statement confirming that Webber has asked to step down from his post, with it highly intimated that Norwich are the club he wishes to join.
Norwich have decided to scrap their previous system of having a manager and a chief executive – now moving to a sporting director and head coach.
This comes after Norwich lost two CEO’s in the last year; David McNally and Jez Moxey both left their roles in the club and the board have decided to act.
They started by sacking Alex Neil as manager two weeks ago, with Alan Irvine currently taking caretaker charge.
Webber now looks set to take over as the club’s new sporting director and his first task will be to identify a new head coach for the club.
Huddersfield’s statement read as follows:
In response to recent speculation in the media, Huddersfield Town can confirm that Head of Football Operations Stuart Webber has expressed a desire to leave the football club.
As a result, Stuart has been placed on garden leave until the matter is resolved.
Huddersfield Town will make no further comment on this situation until its conclusion.
