Neil rubbishes talk of £13m Brady bid
Norwich City manager has rubbished talk of Burnley making a £13m offer for Robbie Brady.
The City boss has not ruled out interest from Brady, but the figure of £13m is news to him.
It was reported yesterday that Burnley made a bid of £13m for the Irishman, following news that Norwich rejected an offer of £10m from Crystal Palace earlier this week.
Speaking to the PinkUn, Neil said this:
How much? Okay. We have got a strong valuation of Rob after the Euros, his age, and the fact that he is versatile in his position and the scope that he has. The position remains the same.
Until a club meets our valuation he won’t be going anywhere. There has been contact. A lot is done through agents and what have you but nothing confirmed until a firm offer is on the table. It is not past the stage of fishing. Is Burnley news to me? The figure certainly is.
Sunderland are also thought to be holding an interest in Brady, although they are yet to make an official move.
Norwich are thought to be looking for a fee in the region of £12m. This is to fund incoming transfers this month, with the club currently out of money to spend on signings.
Alex Neil has made it clear that they have to sell before they can buy this month and Brady appears to be the player on the transfer list as they look to raise funds.
The Irish winger is currently serving a three-match suspension and will miss the final match of his ban on Saturday against Rotherham.
