Swansea boss confirms Olsson close to move
Swansea boss Paul Clement has confirmed that his club are close to signing Norwich City left-back Martin Olsson.
Clement has claimed that talks between the two clubs are well underway and they are at the stage of agreeing terms.
This means that an announcement of the deal is expected over the coming days – possibly before Norwich’s clash with Rotherham on Saturday.
As quoted by The PinkUn, Clement said this:
The two clubs are talking about that possibility.
The stage it’s at we’re looking to agree the terms.
Olsson is currently the only senior left-back Norwich have on their books, with Robbie Brady suspended and Harry Toffolo out on loan.
Steven Whittaker is able to fill in at left-back but his last league appearance came when he gave away a penalty in a 3-0 defeat to Birmingham City in September – playing as a left-back.
Olsson signed a new Norwich contract last month but it appears as though that was only to bump up his price for this month – due to his previous deal expiring this summer.
Swansea are thought to have agreed a £5m deal for the Swedish international.
