The transfer window is now well under way with almost two weeks having passed so far.
We sit on the 12th January, with Norwich not having sold or bought any players in the window to date.
Martin Olsson is, though, reportedly on the verge of a £5m move to Premier League side Swansea City.
Norwich manager Alex Neil has made it very clear that the club has to sell before it can sign anyone.
Jez Moxey also made it clear at the AGM last year that the club ran out of money in the summer after investing in players like Nelson Oliveira and Alex Pritchard – both of whom were acquired for considerable fees.
Now Norwich are in need of selling some of their big earners in a bid to bring in some fresh faces this month.
But who should Norwich be looking to move on? Here are five players who could leave Carrow Road this month…
Kyle Lafferty
He simply has to go. It is blatantly clear that Neil does not rate Lafferty and the club are thought to want another forward in this month.
He won’t want to stay at the club whilst being fourth choice…
John Ruddy
Thought to be one of the highest paid players in the squad, yet is a perennial underperfomer – easy choice to let go.
Norwich have had goalkeeping troubles for well over a year now. They need to get rid of Ruddy and bring in a new first choice.
Robbie Brady
Although I am a big fan of Brady, he looks destined to leave this month.
He’s Premier League quality and would be a good addition to most teams in the bottom half of the table.
Also, the quoted £13m Norwich could get for him would give Neil a sizeable chunk of money to spend on signings.
Sebastien Bassong
Norwich will surely attempt to strengthen their defence this month, which means a centre back will need to leave the club.
Bassong is on a hefty wage at the club and would free up a considerable amount of money for Norwich.
Martin Olsson
And we finish with the obvious. Olsson’s move to Swansea appears to just be a formality away now.
£5m is a decent price for the Swede, but Norwich will now be in desperate need of a left-back.
