Our man of the match: Fulham (A)
Norwich dropped points on Tuesday as they succumbed to a 2-2 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Alex Neil’s side went into the game top of the league, but the draw saw them lose their status to Newcastle – who beat Barnsley 2-0 thanks to a Dwight Gayle double.
Norwich started the game with purpose and took the lead on the 17th minute. Graham Dorrans converted from the spot after Scott Malone felled Jacob Murphy in the area.
Dorrans was Jonny on the spot once again in the 41st minute. Cameron Jerome was pulled back in the box by Malone, with Dorrans stepping up to double the away side’s lead.
Fulham rarely threatened but came out in the second half on a mission. The home side took the match to Norwich and found themselves with a goal back in the 65th minute after Stefan Johanssen was hit by Chris Martin’s shot and it deflected into the corner.
Martin then pulled Fulham level after Russell Martin backed off him in the area – making it 2-2.
There were not many contenders for the man of the match award, with abject performances across the board for Norwich. Graham Dorrans and Jacob Murphy came into my thinking, but I have gone for Timm Klose.
Klose was the only player on the pitch who looked even close to being good enough in the second half.
The big Swiss defender made countless important interceptions, blocks and tackles to attempt to keep Fulham at bay – and it would be harsh to blame him for either goal.
