Late last night, the Nottingham Post claimed that Nottingham Forest could be set to swoop in and hijack a move for Nelson Oliveira from under Norwich’s noses.
However, we understand that this is far from possible. We understand that Oliveira has already completed a medical, agreed personal terms and signed his four-year contract with the club.
The only sticking points at this time is the finalising of his registration and for all the paperwork to be sorted properly. This is expected to be completed as quickly as possible, with an announcement of the deal today.
There have been growing concerns amongst Norwich fans for the time it is taking to sign the Benfica forward, but the deal is 99% completed and he will formalise his switch to Carrow Road in the coming hours – with no move from Forest able to change that.
Forest are unable to hijack the deal, with Oliveira already having put pen to paper on his new Norwich City contract.
Norwich are expected to do more business before the end of the window after Oliveira’s confirmation.
