Norwich City return to league action this Saturday afternoon, following their mid-week 6-1 thumping of Coventry at Carrow Road, with a trip to the midlands as they take on Birmingham City. It will be their first league outing since the return of the Old Farm derby last Sunday, where they didn’t impress and failed to capitalise on a weak Ipswich performance.
The hugely contrasting nature of Norwich’s last two performances will give boss Alex Neil a selection headache, with the difference in attacking threat being miles apart. New players on the scene, like Jacob Murphy and Sergi Canos, will put any underperforming attacking player under instant pressure to keep his place in the starting XI.
Here we take a look at how we think Norwich will line up to take on Gary Rowett’s side. Leave a comment down below to give your opinion on who should be in Norwich’s starting XI.
Michael McGovern
The Euro 2016 star has continued his good form since stepping in for the injured Ruddy.
Steven Whittaker
Alex Neil hinted on Tuesday night that Whittaker was brought off early to save him for Saturday, with Pinto still injured.
Ryan Bennett
Forming a promising partnership with Klose, and appears to be learning from the Swiss.
Timm Klose
A class above in this league.
Robbie Brady
Olsson is still believed to not be ready to return to first team action, and Brady has looked solid at left back.
Alex Tettey
A quality midfielder at this level.
Jonny Howson
One of the best performers for Norwich this season.
Sergi Canos
The Spaniard was on fire against Coventry, and is surely on the brink of breaking into the first team in the league.
Wes Hoolahan
He didn’t perform as well as we know he can last week, coming up a less physical team than Ipswich will only benefit Wes.
Steven Naismith
The Scot looks like the one who’s most under threat to lose his place in the side, after failing to put in any noticeably impressive performances this season.
Cameron Jerome
Scored a quality goal last week, and is still lacking serious competition.
