Norwich team news: Coventry (H)
Norwich City manager Alex Neil has handed out the latest squad news ahead of tomorrow’s EFL Cup clash with Coventry at Carrow Road.
Firstly, Martin Olsson, John Ruddy, Alex Pritchard and Graham Dorrans are not ready to feature. They have all been out for a number of weeks now, but could come back into contention for the match against Birmingham at the weekend.
Speaking to Norwich’s website, Alex Neil said this:
I think it will be too soon for them.
In any sense, I’m not sure I would play them in the game. They would need at least a week of training before they got involved in that
Matt Jarvis is also ruled out for the clash, as he continues his recovery from a long-term knee injury. He is expected to come back during the new year.
Ivo Pinto was forced off at half-time against Ipswich with a hamstring injury, with news on that coming later today for Norwich after scans.
Ivo has tweaked a hamstring muscle and we’ll find out the extent of that later today.
He felt it in the warm-up stretching for a ball but started the game with no issues. Unfortunately, as the game wore on it got worse and we had to take him off.
Norwich are expected to name a completely different XI to that which featured against Ipswich, with the game coming little over 48 hours after the derby clash.
