Our man of the match: Ipswich (A)
Norwich City continued their unbeaten start to the Championship season with a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town.
It was the first East Anglian derby of the season, with the sides having to share the spoils at full-time.
Norwich were the team to strike first. Jonny Howson teed up Cameron Jerome on the edge of the box to calmly stroke the ball into the corner of the net, giving Norwich the lead.
However, Ipswich struck right on the stroke of half-time. Jonas Knudsen fired a rasping strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box after some poor marking from Howson.
There were few chances in the second half, but Steven Whittaker missed two good opportunities, hitting the post with one.
It was Norwich’s worst performance of the season so far for me, so picking a man of the match was hard.
But, for the third game in-a-row I am going for Ryan Bennett as my Norwich man of the match.
Bennett won my man of the match award against Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City and he has claimed it once again.
The central defender was composed at the back and dealt with a wave of Ipswich attacks. Timm Klose had one of his worst performances in a City shirt to date, but Bennett was able to cover for him on a number of occasions.
