Our man of the match: Rubin Kazan (Friendly)
Norwich City have completed their pre-season tour of Austria with an impressive win against Russian side Rubin Kazan.
Alex Neil’s side beat Rubin Kazan 2-1 on a neutral ground, with goals from Cameron Jerome and Steven Naismith sealing the win.
Jerome opened the scoring after just two minutes when the Kazan goalkeeper and defender ran into each other, giving Jerome an open goal to caress the ball into.
Kazan then levelled the scores when Mulumbu gifted the ball to them in his own half, leading to the Kazan forward racing clear on goal and slotting past John Ruddy.
However, Norwich re-took the lead in the second half when Steven Naismith latched onto a Jerome through ball to fire a left-footed drive past the goalkeeper.
There were plenty of candidates for man of the match, but I have gone for – the big man himself – Timm Klose.
The Swiss defender is adored by pretty much every single person connected with Norwich for his off the pitch antics. Yet, it is his performances on the pitch that do all the talking.
Straight from the off Klose was winning tackles and headers and was committed to every challenge he went for.
He was composed on the ball at all times and looked to play out from the back. It was a superb performance from the defender.
Special mention to Steven Naismith, who also had a very good game in attacking midfield.
