Norwich and Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty has revealed that he won’t be at Norwich next season and will be looking for a new club.

His decision came about after revealing that Norwich didn’t make contact with him once during Northern Ireland’s UEFA Euro 2016 campaign and that the club blanked him.

When speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Lafferty suggested that the search for a new club will commence once he comes back from honeymoon with his new wife Vanessa.

When I come back I will probably be looking for a new club

I haven’t really had any contact with Norwich over the summer but the fans have been absolutely brilliant with me.

They know I wanted to play for the club and I always gave 100 percent, but it wasn’t to be.

Lafferty joined the Canaries from Italian side Palermo in the summer of 2014 under then manager Neil Adams, but spent most of his time under Adams playing on the wings instead of his natural centre forward position. Despite this, Lafferty fell out of favour with new boss Alex Neil and spent time away from the club with Turkish side Caykur Rizespor and Birmingham City of the Sky Bet Championship.

The former Rangers striker enjoyed a marvellous Euro 2016 tournament with Northern Ireland, helping Michael O’Neill’s men progress to the last 16 after qualifying from a very tough Group C which also featured Poland, Ukraine and world champions Germany.
