Norwich winger signs for Southampton
Nathan Redmond has moved to Southampton today for an undisclosed fee, thought to be a fee in the region of £8m up front with a further £3m potentially due in add-ons.
The Englishman joined Norwich from Birmingham City for £3.2m in 2014, and has gone on to make 123 appearances for the Canaries.
The sale looks to be the first of many for Norwich as players depart the recently relegated side for Premier League football.
Redmond failed to make the desired impact in his first season at Norwich, scoring only once in 39 appearances. The Englishman remained with the club after their relegation and helped propel them back to the Premier League. He scored the second goal in the Play-Off Final victory over Middlesbrough in May 2015.
The 22-year-old proved his Premier League quality last season, scoring six goals and getting two assists as Norwich finished 19th and dropped back into the Championship. His fantastic display for the England U21s at the Toulon Tournament tempted many clubs towards him and may have helped to raise his value.
