Tettey told he is staying at Norwich
Alex Tettey has been told that he is staying at Norwich this summer by Alex Neil, reports The Eastern Daily Press.
Following on from Norwich’s relegation to the Championship, Norwich are bound to lose some of their most coveted players. Alex Tettey is one of the players that could be linked with an exit, but that seems unlikely now.
Tettey has said that Alex Neil has personally told him that he is staying at the club this summer ahead of next season, with Tettey happy to stay. Tettey’s contract at Norwich was due to expire this summer, but a one-year extension option was exercised.
This means that Tettey has one year left on his Norwich contract, and he is happy to stay on for that period of time. Tettey has been at Norwich for four seasons and has built up a fantastic rapport with the fans in that time, which is sure to have affected his decision.
Speaking about his future, Tettey said this:
You’re not going anywhere, that’s the message I was given.
He (Neil) said he did not want to lose me.
As a football player you always want to play at the highest level, but I have a contract with Norwich for one more year. For now that’s what I’m focusing on. If I say anything more about it, it will only be misinterpreted. I like Norwich. I have great respect for the club.
