In a duel ran on this site, Norwich fans have voted for Ian Culverhouse as the club’s best ever right-back.

He joins Kevin Keelan in our Read Norwich best ever Norwich XI after fans voted for the ex-Norwich ‘keeper in yesterday’s duel.

Culverhouse won an impressive 85% of his duels, beating Russell Martin to the spot in the team. Martin won 58% of his duels, putting him in second place, followed by Daryl Sutch, Marc Edworthy and Paul Haylock.

The ex-Norwich right-back spent nine seasons as a player in Norfolk, as well as three years as Paul Lambert’s assistant from 2009-2012. During his playing days, Culverhouse racked up 297 appearances and scored just the one goal.

He was a solid defender and a fan favourite, which shows given the high percentage of duels he won the piece. Like with Keelan, I was not luck enough to be alive during Culverhouse’s time at the club, but I have heard great things.
