According to The Mirror, Norwich striker Kyle Lafferty is set to snub Leeds United and sign for Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent switch.

It is thought that The Owls are closing in on his signature on loan deal until the end of the season, with the enticing factor being a £1.5m clause that would allow them to sign Lafferty at the end of the season.

This is the option Norwich are most interested in, rather than a simple loan as Alex Neil looks to let go of one of the players who is surplus to requirements. This means that Norwich can get Lafferty off their books and sign a replacement in the summer.

Lafferty is desperate for a move away from Carrow Road, having featured in just one league match this season, which was a brief cameo appearance against Leicester.
